Using AI tools with NDA audition scripts

Many projects send sides under NDA, sometimes with fake character names. Before you paste those pages into any AI tool, you need to know where the text goes and whether it is kept.

The three questions to ask

Is the text stored after the answer is generated? Is it used to train models? Does it end up in logs a support person could read? If a tool cannot answer all three, treat it as public.

How we handle it

PDF and Word files are read in your browser, so the file never leaves your device. The extracted text is sent only to model providers with zero data retention and no training on prompts, and our error logs record the error type, never your script.

Your NDA still comes first

Some agreements forbid any third-party processing. If yours does, break the scene down by hand. The method in our breakdown guide works just as well on paper.

Questions actors ask

Do you save my script?
No. Nothing you paste or upload into Script Breakdown is written to our database.
